The attorney general said on Saturday during a press conference that his office has received a request from the police department to investigate an incident that took place during the arrest and investigation of the RBC bank robbery suspects. Early Friday afternoon three men robbed the RBC Bank in Palm Beach at gunpoint, taking money and the personal belongings of clients and staff, while a fourth man waited outside. A few blocks away, the men swapped their sedan for a gold color pickup truck and disappeared. The men had stolen about 100 thousand florin.

The police corps' armed robbery team have carried out various arrests in an investigation into robberies that took place last year. The thieves were armed and the robberies were violent. Among the six suspects arrested were a young man who just recently attended his first day as a student of the Police Academy, the son of a former policeman (Richardson) and a former police officer (Arrindel), the other arrestees carry the last names Weindal and Brison. Police confiscated a pellet gun, which, among others, was used to commit the robberies. The robberies were committed in the region of the island known as "pariba di brug", which includes Savaneta, Pos Chiquito and San Nicolas. Police will not give any details on the robberies nor the arrests to safeguard the investigation.

Sunday at 12:30 a.m. organizers announced Jeffrey Kelly as the island's 2013 Tumba King. The traditional music genre has lost some of its popularity to Calypso (Caiso) and Roadmarch (Soca), but remains a very important element in the island's Carnaval celebration. The title of Kelly's song was "Nos Tey pa Keda" (We are here to stay); he was accompanied by Robert y Su Solo Banda Show. This year's festival was dedicated to Eduardo Tromp, Bencho Giel and Reynold Kelly; Alexander James received a special recognition. Second and third place were won, respectively, by Richard "Tatoo" Quant with Zeta Band and Anouschka Odor with Robert y Su Solo Banda Show.

Saturday morning Sams personnel received a second visit from a Venezuelan man who already had stolen goods for a total of $4,000 from the store in Oranjestad on October 16, 2012 by using a fake credit card. The credit card company advised Sams later that the card was fake and Sams' insurance covered the loss.

A thief was caught Monday seeking a house to rob in Eagle. A homeowner noticed the man and notified police. Officers caught up with him in Ierlandstraat, as he had run off, but had not gotten far. He ran into a yard when he saw the police, but was found and detained immediately. The man had a crackpipe, a lighter and a knife. He was taken to a precinct for further investigation and questioning.
