GLW Foundation announces that the first activity for the 2013 Miss Teen Aruba International pageant has been scheduled for March 23. The competition includes extensive preparations, with many educational seminars and activities, as well as the traditional social projects. The theme of this year's final night is "Viva...Las Vegas".

Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Organization, announced today the celebrity judges for the 2012 MISS UNIVERSE® Competition, which will broadcast live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Wednesday, December 19 at 8 p.m. ET (tape delayed PT) on NBC with a Spanish simulcast on Telemundo.

On Thursday Liza Helder was crowned Miss Universe Aruba at Fusion at Alhambra Mall by Minister of Tourism, Transport and Labor, Otmar Oduber. She will be representing Aruba at the Miss Universe pageant on December 19 in Las Vegas. Her main sponsor is Divi Resorts, which was represented at the occasion by Managing Director Alex Nieuwmeyer.
Currently visiting Aruba for the island’s first contemporary art biennale is Cuban artist Rene Franciso Rodriguez. He is an art teacher with the Instituto Superior de Arte of Havana, Cuba and is the one who created the new art teaching method, “Desde una pragmatica pedagogica”. He has hosted over 30 solo expositions in, among others, Germany, Canada, Cuba, the U.S.A., Israel, Jamaica, Mexico and China and has participated at more or less 60 collective expositions and international art events. On Aruba Rodriguez will be participating at three events. From September 24 through the 29th, he is offering a workshop at Westin Resort, from 4 to 7 p.m. The second event is a video exposition at Insight Foundation for the Arts in Paradera, which opens to the general public on September 25 at 7 p.m. On Thursday, September 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cas di Cultura, Rodriguez will be offering a lecture on his vision and experience as a teacher and artist.
