The Economic, Commercial and Industrial Affairs Department (DEZHI) is in the process of modernizing its services and announces that it is now possible to pay for permits with an ATM card. Other methods of payment, namely via bank transfer or online banking, are naturally accepted. DEZHI reminds all entrepreneurs who own a small business and would like to grow their business or need assistance and those who are preparing to start a small business, that IDEA is open. IDEA is the initiative for business development. IDEA will soon also start offering workshops for its clients and the general public.

On Tuesday in commemoration of World Environment Day, Fundacion Gabriel Flores, Serlimar, Santa Rosa and Pius X School celebrated a tree planting ceremony at the school in Dakota. The event was primarily geared towards raising awareness and promoting appreciation for the environment and nature among the kids. Present at the occasion were also members of Parliament Donny Rasmijn and Marlon Sneek.

James Murray, convicted for rape and murder of a young child 33 years ago on Curacao, was transported to that island on Monday for psychological testing. Murray has appealed his sentence, using a law introduced recently in the new Curacao penal code.
