Aruban authorities are conducting a large scale investigation in connection with the disappearance of Robyn Gardner, an American tourist who disappeared on a snorkeling trip at Nanki in the Colony. On Sunday local authorities were at the site with the suspect, Gary Giordano, filming and measuring at certain spots.

According to sources, Giordano declared they had already gone to the site and decided to return to snorkel there the next day. They had swam out until they could not stand anymore and Giordano decided to swim back and it was when he arrived at the shore that he noticed that Gardner was not with him anymore and he called authorities.

Giordano was arrested on Friday as he was leaving the island, having already given extensive declarations to the police. His lawyer on Aruba, Michael Lopez, has advised him to make use of his right to remain silent.

Yes,it sure would be nice to be brought up to spped here.Why was he a suspect.He said that she disappeared in the waters,what else was there to go on that made this case suspicious?Just curious.

If they were friends and went snorkeling together why is he trying to leave the island before he knows what is the situation with her ? Should he not wait and even help with the search? Is he a frequent visitor to Aruba?

SIMPLE: As soon as he took out insurance on her and then began asking questions immediately after reporting her missing!!! One and one equal two. I THINK BUT NOT THERE.
