James Murray, convicted for rape and murder of a young child 33 years ago on Curacao, was transported to that island on Monday for psychological testing. Murray has appealed his sentence, using a law introduced recently in the new Curacao penal code.

Murray raped and killed his ex-girlfriend's niece Darly Lai after the woman broke up with him.

He calmly got out of the prison van at the airport and denied the media comments on the reason for his trip. He was escorted to Curacao by Aruban officials. Murray will appear in court about his request for release in September.
