Earlier this week, an article was published stating that the company Arevenca was being taken to court for fraud.

Arevenca’s lawyer on Aruba confirmed that there is an ongoing case from a few years ago by a Nigerian company demanding Arevenca on non-delivery of a multimillion dollar order of petroleum.

According to the lawyer, Arevenca sent the shipment on three boats and before the ships arrived in Nigeria, the bank informed Arevenca that there is a problem with the Nigerian company’s payment.

This caused Arevenca to reroute the ships because of non-payment by the Nigerian company. A judge in New York will have to decide if the Nigerian company has to receive compensations.
