Queen Beatrix opens GATE “Gas Access To Europe”; Aruba delegation attends PDF Print E-mail

A delegation headed by Aruba Minister of Finance Mike de Meza attended the opening of the Gas Access To Europe – GATE, effected by Queen Beatrix. The opening of the Gate Terminal of GasUnie in Maasvlakte, Rotterdam took place on September 23.

The GATE project is the first import terminal for LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) in The Netherlands; it was developed by GasUnie NV and Royal Vopak. It is an independent energy distribution point for European companies. Minister De Meza, who is working diligently on energy management, spoke to Dutch Minister Verhagen, the CEO of GasUnie Paul van Gelder and GasUnie executives Piet Kager and Ulco Vermeulen. Representatives of GasUnie will be on Aruba at the end of October for the Green Aruba II Conference.
