Prosecutor demands 7 years jail time for drug-running cab driver

Roberto G. is a cabdriver and fisherman who enjoyed the trust of various customs and coastguard authorities. His name was mentioned in one drug trafficking investigation after which he was found with 50 kilo of cocaine on his boat. He has confessed to having taken over the drugs from another boat at sea, but denied all involvement in any other cases.

His name has been mentioned in several confessions of people who were detained for drug trafficking. Roberto has been in jail for a few months, he has lost his taxi permit and it is likely he will loose his boat and possibly other possessions as well.
