Minister Otmar Oduber of Tourism and Labor met Wednesday morning with The Ritz Carlton's Vice President South-East U.S.A. for Caribbean Ritz Carlton Hotel, Mark Ferland to discuss details pertaining the hotel which is scheduled to open in 2014.

The minister emphasized on the importance of employing local workers and was happy to hear that Ritz Carlton will offer employment to some 550 locals.

He also discussed the possibility of together with the Ritz Carlton team to hold presentations at universities in among others in Holland and the U.S.A. to attract Arubans studying at these institutions to, after they finish their studies, return to Aruba to work in the tourism industry. The idea is to attract young Arubans who are prepared to deliver the service that fits in with the Ritz Carlton culture worldwide.

Another suggestion from Minister Oduber was for the Ritz to consider recently graduated EPI and EPB alumni.

Ritz Carlton is known worldwide for high quality, fine service and Enseñansa pa Empleo will be working with the Department for Labor Progress to offer a extensive service course to enable those who attend to apply for a job and perform at the level that the Ritz requires.
