First Aruba Art Biennale welcomes Rene Francisco Rodriguez |

Currently visiting Aruba for the island’s first contemporary art biennale is Cuban artist Rene Franciso Rodriguez. He is an art teacher with the Instituto Superior de Arte of Havana, Cuba and is the one who created the new art teaching method, “Desde una pragmatica pedagogica”. He has hosted over 30 solo expositions in, among others, Germany, Canada, Cuba, the U.S.A., Israel, Jamaica, Mexico and China and has participated at more or less 60 collective expositions and international art events. On Aruba Rodriguez will be participating at three events. From September 24 through the 29th, he is offering a workshop at Westin Resort, from 4 to 7 p.m. The second event is a video exposition at Insight Foundation for the Arts in Paradera, which opens to the general public on September 25 at 7 p.m. On Thursday, September 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cas di Cultura, Rodriguez will be offering a lecture on his vision and experience as a teacher and artist.
