Police officer suspected of involvement in robbery detained |

The detention of the police officer (A.W.), who works at the San Nicolas precinct, has been prolonged. The officer recently became a member of the police force and Internal Affairs is investigating the case. A.W. is being suspected of "breaking-in" and joyriding. His family claims this is a misunderstanding.
The investigation is not over yet and on Friday a judge of instruction prolonged the detention with another eight days. Seen at the courthouse were his lawyer, Chris Lejuez in conversation with Member of Parliament Donny Rasmijn (AVP), who is the police officer's father.
