On Friday Minister of Tourism, Transport and Labor Mr. Otmar Oduber was honored to launch the new local news in English website arubaherald.com. The director of the website Mr. Mark-Benson Denz and the Minister of Tourism,Transport & Labor held an IPAD in their hands and Minister Oduber had the honor of pressing the countdown to the “going live” of the site. The Aruba Herald is an initiative of Mr. Mark Benson Denz director of the company that operates local news site in Papiamento 24ora.com .
Mr. Denz elaborates that since the beginning of 24ora.com 4 years ago he noticed that there was a need for the same news but in English. Denz decided to fully develop 24ora.com into the success that it is today as the most visited website in Aruba and to then focus on ArubaHerald.com . On Friday after months of preparations together with the engineers of Netcor the website went live during the Expo Destination Innovation Conference organized by the Aruba Chamber of Commerce. This took place in the Renaissance Convention Center.
ArubaHerald.com will provide up to the minute local news from Aruba in English. In addition ArubaHerald.com will also dedicate sections to tourists that are planning to vacation in Aruba and all other persons that have an interest in Aruba and communicate primarily in English. Another area where ArubaHerald.com will focus its news is the business and financial aspect of the world. Live on the site the visitor will have a view of the current stock market points and also view the local currency compared to foreign currencies.On the site the user will also will have the possibility to use the classifieds section. This will be completely free for the user.
The website has a very clean look and all tabs are very organized. At the top of the page the user will find the tabs for current news and at the left tabs all tourist information related to Aruba can be found. Included in this area is a very useful island directory.
