The Aruba Marriott is proud to announce the promotions of four management positions: Ilaina Franco Franka as Director of Events and Banquet Operations, Susana de Oliva to Events Manager, Gail Sahit-Mahabeer as Vacation Experience Manager and Reuella Reeberg to Human Resources Manager.
Ilaina started her career in Events and Planning with De Palm Tours as Marketing Coordinator in 2003. In 2007 she moved to Epic Aruba as Operations Manager until 2012. She joined the Aruba Marriott in April 2012 as Events Manager. In 2012 she achieved outstanding scores for overall planning and guest satisfaction. She studied her Bachelor degree in Art Director/Graphic Design and once she joined the tourism industry she decided to do her Master’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism in the University of Aruba.
Susana holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. She started at the Aruba Marriott in 2011, as a Front Desk supervisor Intern. In November 2012, Susanna was promoted to the position of Front Desk supervisor where she played a key role to improve Arrival Experience and lead Front Desk to achieve a Green score for Marriott Rewards Enrollment. In November 2012, Susana was promoted to the position of Project Supervisor, a role she has fulfilled competently and excelled in leading various projects on property. Gail started her career with Marriott in Spring 2007 as the Executive Administrative Assistant working with the Resort Hotel Manager. In 2008 Gail transferred to Marriott’s Ocean Club as the Executive Assistant of the General Manager. She has been recognized at the Marriott Vacation Club ‘Way to Go’ Gold Level for her Owner and Guest achievements in creating memorable vacation experiences. Gail’s exceptional performance and positive engagement with our owners, guests and staff has made her a perfect candidate for the Ocean Club Vacation Experience Manager. Reuella started with Marriott in August of 2010, where she worked as a Front Desk Agent at Ocean Club while obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality at the University of Aruba. In January of 2012 she transferred into Human Resources as a full time Human Resource Coordinator in the recruitment area, while completing her final thesis for her Bachelor’s Degree. She graduated in the summer of 2012 successfully. Reuella will be in charge of the recruitment section for the Human Resources department.
