DSC_2063During a visit to the neighborhood of Bloemond Prime Minister Mike Eman brought a visit to Emile Kelkboom's plantation. The experienced radio and news man owns and operates one of the island's oldest radiostations, Radio Kelkboom, which was founded by his father, Carlos Kelkboom. Emile and his wife received the Prime Minister with special vegetarian treats and liquor, all natural, organic and homemade. Kelkboom and his family can be found at every Santa Rosa Farmer's Market and food events, where they sell their delicious treats made from the Dabaru bean, known also as Uña de Gato, as well as different other beans.
Kelkboom said they were very happy with Minister Otmar Oduber management of agriculture, lending assistance to whomever requests this and promoting local food production.
