Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Benny Sevinger announced this week that ALBO had won the public tender for the “Binnenhof” project. The minister explained that the government’s Infra-Team made a calculation of the project’s total cost, but after receiving the various offers, realized that apparently the cost would be higher.

“Our Infra-Team experts together with the architect, Mr. Hoevertsz and Mr. Ponson have met with ALBO and have reached various agreements to lower different prices and have reached at a cost of Afl. 18 million,” Minister Sevinger explained. He expects the construction process to begin within the next few weeks. In the process two monuments – one on Zoutmanstraat and the other on the side of the Renaissance Resort - will also be restored. Minister Sevinger said that the pending announcement requesting tenders for the reconstruction of the former tax offices, the renovation of the former ambulance headquarters for San Nicolas, the park in front of Valero Esso Heights, Juana Morto, De Vuyst and Madiki should take place next week. Furthermore, he said he hoped to get approval from Parliament for Afl. 10 million for the construction of roads.
