Minister Otmar Oduber congratulates Frans Ponson on successful drag-race event; good international press coverage generated

Minister of Tourism Otmar Oduber on Monday congratulated Frans Ponson on the international press coverage generated by the drag-race event he had organized in January 2011. Ponson had received good support from Aruba Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Tourism and Aruba Airport Authority to realize this event.

For a modest investment from their part and as a nice reward for Ponson’s hard work, the return on investment was excellent, with international press coverage in at least three renowned automobile magazines. Frans Ponson explained that one magazine gave the event a cover story, while in another ten pages were dedicated to Aruba and the races. These magazines have a readership of hundreds of thousands in the U.S. and other countries, Ponson added.
