Every Friday, as of October 12, YMCA Dakota presents the Dancefit program by Romulo Fingal, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The program was launched at Club Kibrahacha 60-plus and now is being offered as well at YMCA. Participants are invited to dance to the “oldies” as a form of exercise, at a pace that is apt for their age.

The program is run by Club Kibrahacha, but takes place at YMCA Dakota and participation costs only Afl. 25 per month. The registration also includes participation at all other Kibrahacha activities, which take place among others at their center in Piedra Plat.

Kibrahacha is expanding, its director Diane Uchtmann explained. The club will be working with YMCA and the retirees organization OPPA on different other projects.

In August, the partners organized the first two-week “Summer Camp”, which was extremely successful.

Mr. Fingal retired 17 years ago and at the age of 70 – three years ago – began offering the customized “Dancefit” program for everyone 60 years and older.
