Students from the Caribbean Region who have recently moved to Rotterdam for their higher education are invited to participate in a photo competition organized by the municipality of Rotterdam. From some 1200 entries, the photos by Aruban students Naomi Lo, Jennifer Loaiza and Carry-Lynn Martinus were chosen the winners of this competition.
The prizes were presented in the atrium of Hogeschool Rotterdam by the director of security of the municipality, Mr. Andre Vervooren. All students who arrived in August in Rotterdam took an orientation course which is organized by the city. They are given a camera and asked to present a photo that illustrates something typical to the city and how the city has inspired them. The city received some 1200 photos, the top 40 were selected for an exposition and will be published in the book "Live free like the wind".
