As the best Aruban Judoka Jayme Mata received a wild card to compete in the judo event of the 2012 Olympic games in London.

The owner & director of Nihon sport (Official Adidas distributor in the Netherlands), Peter Wetzer agreed to sponsor the Aruban Judo Olympic team (Competitor Jayme Mata & Trainings Partner Javier Wanga) with Adidas gear.

As a former competition judoka and father of one of the former top female judokas in the Netherlands, Peter understands the importance of sponsorship and having the right materials in this respect. Hence, his agreement to sponsor adidas gear to Jayme & Javier. This is what we call sportsmanship.

As the Olympic games in London 2012 are approaching, the Aruban Judo Olympic team is training hard in preparation to  the Olympic games. Jayme is training along with friend and trainings partner Javier Wanga (Olympian at 2000 Sydney Olympic Games) at Stichting Judo Top Nijmegen and Erasmus University Sport in Rotterdam.

Jayme is training under the guidance of the Aruban Olympic team coach Betto Thiel (Former judo Olympic contender and Olympic coach 2000, 2008 & 2012). Betto is also assisted by two Compitition Level Coaches in the Netherlands Joyce Janssen (Coach of former European Champion) & Gerrie Theunissen (Olympic Coach 2012).
