On Wednesday afternoon, mediator Anselmo Pontilius met with UEA labor union leader Coby Geerman and the labor union's board and ELMAR director Robert Henriquez and ELMAR's lawyer Bryan Coffee. ELMAR is Aruba's electricity distribution company. The mediator suggested that the labor union stop the strike and for ELMAR to call off the case they have started against the labor union, while both parties meet and try to reach an agreement.

The Antiquities Museum will be open on Monday, April 30 for the celebration of Queen's Day. The collection of antiques can be viewed at Timbalstraat 11 in Dakota. No entrance fee will be charged. As a method to raise funds to maintain the collection, drinks and snacks will be for sale at reasonable prices. The Aruba Antiquities Museum is open on special occasions and includes a vast collection of antiques and vintage objects that were used in homes and businesses on the island.

Dermatologist John Kock will hold a lecture on Wednesday, May 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Radisson Resort's ballroom. The subject of the lecture is skin cancer diagnosis, prevention and treatment. Kock said he is giving the lecture as a contribution to the community of Aruba and the Queen Wilhelmina Cancer Fund, which holds its annual collection actions in April.

On Monday, Queen's Day, the National Library will host a book market at their San Nicolas location at P. Stuyvesantstraat. They will have books for kids and adults, as well as other items, including treats, for sale. The market will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Library members who have overdue books at home can also hand them in on Monday, April 30 and will not be charged a fine.
