Following a refresh, the Island’s most popular cocktail lounge opened last week and hosted a fun Halloween Party over the weekend. Manager Antoine Britten welcomed patrons with bottomless flutes of chilled champagne, while the DJ spun fun Latin and contemporary hits, before Yibison took to the stage for an evening of nonstop dancing.
The renovated lounge looks much larger, with a giant mirror on the back wall, lighter side and ceiling colors and a lovely gleaming tile floor. A piano has been added to the room, with a wraparound bar and stools, in signature Piano Bar style. Free Champagne, snacks and prizes for winners courtesy of Aruba’s largest liquor purveyors Arion Wine Company, Romar Trading and the Aruba Trading Company, made Halloween at Garufa unforgettable. Owner Riri Botta explained that Garufa will shortly offer outdoor, street side, smoking tables, spilling the club ambiance into colonial Wilhelminastraat, for an added indoor-outdoor excitement.
The club has a complete entertainment lineup starting with Happy Hour at 6pm three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays with $3 wine and mixed drink prices, accompanied by free tapas. Every Monday, Jairo, the Romantic Sax Player will be charming patrons from 6:30pm to 9:30pm; Then on Tuesdays, Arion Wine Company will offer delicious wine flights paired with tapas. On Wednesdays DJ Junior will spin best hits from 6pm to 9pm, chased by Yibison’s performance to the wee hours. On Thursdays, Mr Golden Oldies, Dennis Zeppenveldt will play from 8pm to 12midnight. On Friday, DJ Junior will spin from 6pm to 9pm followed by Funky Music, with a trip down memory lane. Finally on Saturday, Yibison returns for a second time, with hot Latin chart-toppers from 10pm to 2am. Garufa Ultra Lounge offers a huge selection of cocktails, and an extensive bottle menu. Garufa Ultra Lounge boasts an innovative state of the art sound-system, a refreshed bar, furniture and restrooms, adding to the bar’s elegant, glitzy ambiance, dedicated to giving everyone a good time!
