Today, Friday, October 28, 2011, the judge has considered the request to extend the detention of the suspect G.V.G. in the investigation into disappearance and death of the American woman Robyn Gardner. It has been decided that the detention of the U.S. suspect will be extended with 30 days.

In the past 60 days detention period extensive research was carried out. Amongst other things, a search for the body of Mrs. Gardner was performed with sniffer dogs and a re-enactment of the facts of the incident, according to the statement G. was executed.

The investigation is still ongoing and results are still awaited of various research activities that are carried out abroad. The results of these activities will be studied by the investigative team and incorporated in the investigation.

Friday, August 5, 2011 the man G. was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the disappearance and death of 35-year-old Gardner on August 2, 2011. According to statements of the accused, Gardner, after snorkeling together in the sea behind Nanki Country Club did not come out of the water. Despite intensive searches for several days by the National Police, the Maritime Police, the Coast Guard, Search and Rescue divers and volunteers of JADS Dive and deployment of sniffer dogs, two helicopters, an airplane and several boats, Gardner's body to was not found in the sea or on the seashore. The suspect and Gardner arrived together in Aruba on July 31, 2011 from the United States.
