Bonaire traffic accident victim treated on Aruba dies upon return PDF Print E-mail

On April 13, Bonairean police were notified by their colleagues on Aruba that the victim of a car accident which took place on April 7 and was transported to Aruba for treatment, was being returned to Bonaire.

Medical staff at Aruba's hospital diagnosed Timo van der Veen brain dead and said it was better for him to return home. He was released from Aruba's ICU and transported by air ambulance to Bonaire, where he passed away a few hours after arrival.

Police on Bonaire is conducting an investigation and the car's driver has been questioned. Van der Veen's body was confiscated in the investigation.
